Linda Firestone’s primary role at Playfair involves developing financial plans and helping deliver advice to clients across the firm. By starting with a well-thought-out process, Linda ensures that our guidance, through good and bad markets, has actionable strategies to help in the pursuit of your most cherished goals. Her passion for this profession is to help you make smart financial decisions that will give you confidence to pursue your passion and dreams.

A Korean native and a Brooklyn resident since 1982, Linda is happily married with two wonderful young adult children. She enjoys staying actively involved in her family and community. When she is not serving clients, Linda presides over her local Toastmasters Club, facilitates book discussions at the Brooklyn Public Library, plays tennis, and refines her culinary skills.

  • What does Linda think are the most important attributes of a financial advisor and why? Empathy and persistence. Empathy is needed to fully understand a client’s situation. Helping clients through their life milestones and life changes through good times and bad, requires a financial advisor’s unwavering persistence.

Prior to Playfair, Lindawas a financial analyst in the Vice Provost Office at Columbia University. Also, a graduate of Columbia University, Linda majored in Economics. Later in her career, Linda earned an Advanced Diploma in Certified Financial Planning from New York University. Now, Linda holds Securities Licenses 7 and 63, Life and Health Insurance Licenses, a Notary License, and the Certified Financial Planner- CFP® designation.
